RUNWAYDREAMZ
ELEVATING SALES & ROI THROUGH STRATEGIC UX LEADERSHIP

The Runwaydreamz e-commerce platform faced high bounce rates, low conversion rates, and a disjointed user experience that didn’t align with its luxury brand identity. By leading a comprehensive redesign, I implemented user-centered design solutions, including streamlined navigation, an immersive product catalog, and a simplified checkout flow. These efforts resulted in measurable success, including a 25% reduction in bounce rates, a 30% increase in conversions, and a 20% boost in user engagement.

MY ROLE
From January to September 2015, I spearheaded the end-to-end redesign of Runwaydreamz’s e-commerce platform, aligning user-centered design with strategic business goals to elevate sales and ROI. As the sole UX Lead, I conducted comprehensive user research, defined the information architecture, and developed detailed wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes that enhanced engagement and streamlined the user journey.

Collaborating directly with the CEO and cross-functional teams, I ensured seamless implementation of the designs within the Shopify framework, bridging vision and execution. By integrating intuitive interaction design and a visually compelling interface, I delivered a transformative online experience that not only strengthened the brand’s digital presence but also drove measurable business impact.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
This case study explores the transformation of Runwaydreamz, a leading fashion e-commerce platform. The project focused on delivering a seamless and engaging user experience tailored to a global audience while driving significant business results. By aligning UX strategies with the brand’s goals, the redesign aimed to maximize ROI, increase conversions, and enhance customer satisfaction.

CHALLENGES
The existing platform faced critical challenges that impacted both user engagement and sales performance:
High Bounce Rates: Users frequently exited the site without engaging further, reflecting poor navigation and usability.
Low Conversion Rates: The shopping experience lacked intuitiveness, leading to high cart abandonment.
Global Audience Needs: The site failed to effectively communicate the luxury and exclusivity of the Runwaydreamz brand.

THE OBJECTIVE WAS CLEAR
leverage the existing popularity and celebrity influence to boost the brand even further, driving significant traffic to the website and pushing sales to new heights.

RESEARCH AND INSIGHTS
I began with an extensive research phase to understand user behavior and pain points:

Stakeholder Collaboration: Worked directly with the CEO and marketing team to align business goals with user needs.

User Persona Development:Developed personas such as Ava, a young trendsetter, and Ekaterina, a luxury shopper, to guide design decisions.

Competitor Analysis: Benchmarked against leading e-commerce platforms to identify industry best practices.

Usability Testing: Conducted testing sessions that revealed navigation bottlenecks and checkout friction, directly informing design priorities.

Key insights revealed the need for a simplified navigation structure, visually engaging product displays, and a streamlined checkout process.

CATALOGUE REVAMP

To elevate Runwaydreamz's sales and ROI, I led the creation of an impactful wholesale catalog and a fresh t-shirt collection. Using Adobe Creative Cloud, I combined current fashion trends with our brand's identity to design t-shirts that resonate with our customers. These designs encapsulated creative flair and market intelligence to strengthen our brand's appeal.

In tandem, I developed a detailed wholesale catalog with Adobe InDesign, ensuring it was not only visually striking but also informative. My responsibilities spanned from design to liaising with stakeholders, managing production timelines, and distributing the catalog to potential buyers. This strategic endeavor was key to highlighting our varied product offerings, building relationships with partners, and ultimately, driving our sales and ROI forward.

LOW-FIDELITY WIREFRAMES
In the heart of the design process for Runwaydreamz, the early-stage low-fidelity wireframes played a critical role. These wireframes, presented here, are the visual blueprints where functionality met form right at the start of my UX journey. They served as a conversation starter, allowing me to align my design intentions with business goals, and bridge the gap between abstract user needs and concrete design solutions. Carefully constructed to simplify complex ideas, these wireframes showcase the skeletal framework of our product pages, catalog navigation, and detailed product views. Each wireframe captures a snapshot of my evolving design thought process, embodying my dedication to a user-centric approach that paved the way for the intuitive and elegant interfaces in the later stages.
